The Blog in the Marketing Fog
“What part of Y’all don’t Y’all Understand?” – Being in the South is a blessing, not an obligation and frankly my dears, we know everyone gives a “darn…” Thanks to a lot of work, awesome partners and a fabulous new site we are happy to report that our new Visit South website is performing really well and above initial expectations. We are also so thankful for the social media love and our rapidly growing fan base. (Admit it, being Southern is pretty cool, even if you aren’t “100%” southern!)
With amazing photography, mouth-watering recipes and “why-aren’t-you-here” southern destination articles and lists, you are gonna’ wonder why you aren’t grabbing some sweet tea and coming from over yonder.
Speaking of great websites, we are also proud of the new sites we have launched for Flippers Seafood and Homeaway Groceries, both based in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Things We are Loving Right Now – If you blinked in the past 24 hours you likely missed a few hundred updates to the digital landscape. Thankfully tweaks and additions to Facebook (we LOVE Facebook for Video) and also the “Canvas” feature is spelled out pretty directly from our friends at iMedia.
And yes, it’s true… so much change in algorithms for all social platforms that what you knew last week is likely already overwritten by a new one. You need a score card!
Say What? – Facebook marketers are so confused on how to score Facebook “reactions” as part of their engagement ratings. How do you measure an “angry” reaction face with a real unhappy customer, or dissatisfied client when you have no other info? Will Facebook start making negative perpetuity scores based on “angry” faces? Who knows…
Ain’t That Special? – We are really release-happy this month! Our partners at Visit Coastal Alabama and our web development team unveiled a new website redesign that we built (we’ve been busy y’all) and we are pleased to let that debut as well. More images, blogs and detailed daytrips by interest are just some of the new features to this amazing relationship with more to come.
Until Next Time Campers…
